Roll Coater Partners With Pittsburgh Logistics Systems
Indianapolis, IN.
March
16, 2006 – Roll Coater, Inc., the premier, full service coil
coater in the United States, announced today the successful completion of the
integration of their freight and logistics services with Pittsburgh Logistics
Systems, Inc. (PLS) of Rochester, PA. Roll Coater, which is headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, began the
migration of freight coordination to PLS in late 2005. In February, the integration was completed
at all four of Roll Coater’s plants.
In their role, PLS is managing the coordination of inbound and outbound truck,
rail, and barge shipments for Roll Coater and its customers.
Bob O’Neal, President and Chief Executive Officer of
Roll Coater, stated, “The advantages of partnering with Pittsburgh Logistics Systems
are significant for both
Roll Coater and our customers. The
technology employed by PLS has improved the speed and scope of load dispatch,
ensuring our customers have the greatest opportunity of timely shipments. In light of today’s freight costs and
reduced transportation options,
we’re very pleased to have PLS providing logistics services into and out of our
facilities.” O’Neal continued, “PLS’
holistic approach to freight management is improving equipment utilization,
helping to make Roll Coater a destination of choice for our valued carriers. Roll Coater is confident that PLS is the
right partner to manage this critical process and we look forward to jointly
developing advantages for our customers.”
Further explaining the synergy of the PLS / Roll Coater
relationship, Robert J.
Dunn, President of PLS said “Roll Coater represents a unique opportunity for us
because their customers have historically directed the majority of their
freight through manual routing guides.
PLS’ staff is utilizing our proprietary, web-based eflatbed.com® transportation management
system to automate the process of routing shipments and managing dock capacity.
The end result will be total supply chain coordination for Roll Coater and its
customers. We are very excited to have
the opportunity to provide
logistics services to a quality company such as Roll Coater.”
Roll Coater is a leading provider of pre-fabrication
coil coating services to manufacturers, steel mills and metal service centers.

emissions. The Company operates six
